Possess a high school diploma, GED, TASC, or their equivalent accepted by WVDE.
Pass Pre-Entrance Exam (TABE Test), recommend 8th Grade Level on TABE. These exams are given by appointment.
Complete an in-person interview.
Upon acceptance into the program, a mandatory orientation and the following documents will be required:
Government issued photo ID
Social Security Card
Certificate of Health
Pass Drug Screening
Criminal Background Check
2 passport size photos
English as a Second Language (ESL) Applicants Applicants with English as a Second Language are required to pass the TOEFL Test with a minimum score of 500.

Students who do not score at or above 500 will be referred to WVDE’s Adult Education Office (800-642-2670) to learn about English Language Acquisition Classes in their area. UTC DOES NOT offer ESL, EEL (English Language Learners), or VESL (Vocational English as a Second Language) classes.
Readmission Policy Any adult student who officially withdraws from the program can request readmission. If approved, the student would then rejoin the program at the beginning of the same subsequent grading period or timeline from which they exited. Readmission will occur pending space in the new class as long as the student meets the following requirements.
In order to be readmitted, adult students MUST:
Have left the program in good standing.
Complete an interview with the director, assistant director, and/or program coordinator.
